ACTIROX – The world’s first
VSM has developed the next generation of ceramic grain abrasives for extensive stock removal. VSM ACTIROX sets new standards for the machining of superalloys, stainless steel and carbon steel with respect to grinding speed and stock removal.
For more than a decade, ceramic grain abrasives by VSM have been a byword for enhanced stock removal in conjunction with an enhanced service life. Customers from the metalworking and metal processing industries will now benefit from an even more advanced technology: VSM ACTIROX. VSM ACTIROX is a technology based on geometrically shaped abrasive ceramic grains, which break down consistently and selectively. This continuously produces fresh and sharp cutting edges. "Given the unique surface topography of the product, the abrasive runs smoothly despite its very fast and aggressive cut", explains Simon Heuer, Manager Global Product Management and Application Engineering at VSM. This is the crucial advantage of the innovative new product.
A marked increase in productivity due to faster cutting
This is extremely beneficial for all users. Field tests demonstrated a more than 30% higher stock removal as compared to the hitherto leading abrasive when ACTIROX fibre disc AF890 was used together with the VSM TURBO PAD 3 for levelling of welding seams from stainless steel. Better results in significantly less time, because not only does the new abrasive cut consistently faster, it also features an extremely high initial aggressive action. ACTIROX thus unfolds its total efficiency right at the start of the grinding operation.
Another proven side effect is the reduction in operating costs and the significantly improved productivity thanks to its faster cutting performance per unit of time and maximum stock removal. "ACTIROX is the new flagship product of VSM’s family of high-tech products for extensive stock removal. Whenever maximum stock removal at medium to high contact pressure is concerned for superalloys, stainless steel and carbon steel, ACTIROX is the obvious choice," according to Simon Heuer. The new fibre disc is now available in Germany in grit 36. Its performance can be considerably improved by using the new VSM TURBO PAD 3, a back-up pad which has been specifically developed for use with VSM ACTIROX.
